INSTALLATION PRAYER
131st ANNUAL MEETING
May 11, 2001
Rabbi Edward Paul Cohn
Temple Sinai
New Orleans, Louisiana
Our God and God of our mothers and fathers, we come before you this evening with gratitude for the continuous growth and achievement which our congregation has enjoyed. We're so thankful for the leadership which has been exerted these past two years by officers and Board who have served with such distinction and who have given so generously of themselves day by day.
We ask Thy blessing, O God, upon those men and women who tonight have been elected to positions of leadership and responsibility as Officers and Board Members of Temple Sinai. May our newly elected leaders ever be guided by the high teachings and principles of Judaism. May they always stand strong and courageous, and peak the truth. May they always be true to the voice of conscience, and serve this great Congregation with both diligence and integrity.
May we, O Lord, as a Congregation ever be inspired by the spirit of vision of our founders. Help us to keep faith with that vision, and may we be impelled to move forward, to plant, to create, to build with confidence and enthusiasm - never to fear challenge, never to grow weary, never to weaken in our dream of an ever-growing and more vibrant religious community.
Praised are You, O Lord, our God, King of the universe, who has kept us in life, who has sustained us and who has brought us to this day.
Amen.
